RING Solutions is an innovation-driven tech start-up spearheading Malaysia’s digital personal health records and eReferral platform. Committed to enhancing healthcare through seamless digital solutions, we focus on improving electronic health record systems while fostering collaboration and growth in the sector. Beyond transforming healthcare access and delivery, we are dedicated to equipping the next generation of doctors, nurses, and health professionals with the tools they need for the future.
Empowering Future Healthcare Leaders

In collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM) and co-organised with the UM Medical Society, led by President Chan Yi Chen and Associate Professor Dr. Retnagowri, RING Solutions recently conducted an interactive workshop for UM’s medical students. The event was graciously hosted at UM and opened with a speech by Professor Dato’ Dr. April Camila Roslani, who emphasized the significance of preparing future healthcare leaders. Professor April also highlighted the critical need for public-private collaborations to enhance Malaysia’s medical community and build sustainable healthcare ecosystems.

Bridging Theory and Practice
Our workshop, delivered by Abhishek Chakravertty (CEO, RING Solutions), Francesca Murchie (COO, RING Solutions) and Nitin Kulkari (Product SME, Sancy Berhad), began with an introduction to hospital information systems (HIS) and how they work in Malaysia, helping students understand technical and administrative concepts within healthcare IT. This was followed by an immersive workshop with the students where they had an opportunity to use and interact with our system, providing them with practical experience in managing medical workflows and hospital administration. We ended with a Q&A session where students voiced their questions, shared their concerns with healthcare IT systems, and provided valuable feedback to help improve our systems.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
A key highlight of the event was a presentation by Ms. Hana Salwani Binti Mohd. Zaini from the UM’s IT Department, who showcased Universiti Malaya’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, PPUM iPesakit. The walkthrough presentation of PPUM iPesakit and hands-on walkthrough of our HIS reinforced the importance of adaptability in digital healthcare – similar to how mastering the basics of driving a car makes it easier to operate any vehicle. Understanding the fundamentals of EHR systems equips students to confidently navigate different platforms in their future careers. Through this workshop, students gained practical experience navigating hospital administration and medical workflows, helping them build confidence in handling digital healthcare tools.

Ultimately, this initiative is not just about training students—it’s about shaping the future of healthcare. By empowering the next generation with technological and administrative expertise, RING and Universiti Malaya are paving the way for a more efficient, innovative, and collaborative healthcare system.
